Wind was offshoreish and strong about 1/4mile out so I waited until afternoon when it was supposed to go a bit more W. A couple of guys went out on 6.5ms and seemed to be well powered so I followed them out on my "new" (eBAY) Screamer 105 and 6m. I was well overpowered so after a few runs came in and changed to smaller board and 5.2m It was first go on Screamer and compared to previous 107l measures 1cm wides and 2cm more at the tail, and looked flatter rocker. Felt comfortable to blast along with and could go faster than old board. Turned smoothly, not as tightly but that could have been too much power. Though measureing only a bit bigger flet a fiar bit bigger. Interesting to see how it is in Felixstowe chop. So far so good.
On 5.2m and smaller board it was very good. One of other chaps could not start again as overpowered and not used to the sea so after trying to help he was getting washed out and the Inshore rescue was called. He was OK, just a bit tired and cold. Really nice on 5.2m until wind went offshore, but lucklly I was ashore by then. Only about an hour sailing but good fun.
